Quick Painting
This piece I did I think in about 1.5 hours I was late to the session and just decided to do a monochromatic piece. I tried experimenting with how I laid the paint down. I wanted to have fun and just see what the feeling would do. I also tried neo megilp I think it's called for the first time. A buddy of mine had extra and let me try some.

Portrait of Mark Lawrence
Here's is a painting I did today of Mark Lawrence. He's a friend of my buddy Lucas and is extremely funny and brilliant. He currently is part of a company called Spot Hero www.spothero.com which helps reserve parking here in the Chicago land area!
He posed for three hours and was shamazing at it! I used a limited palette on this one consisting of, yellow ochre, black, white and cad red. Then the shirt was cerulean blue and white. I loved painting this one for some reason and really began to just feel how I should approach the painting and not over think it. Here's a progress.

Just another day
Here are some studies I did at the palette and chisel and as well at work. I'm learning just to let my spirit determine my approach with line work. It's not about emphasizing how I think I should draw/paint but more so how I intuitively feel I should draw/paint in that very moment. There are quite a few sketches ranging from 5 min all the way to 25 & and a couple hours. Please leave and feedback, good or bad it's helpful

Another painting
Here's another painting I did of a buddy of mine Kane. It took 3 hours and in all honesty started of terrible. I left the class because I was becoming so frustrated with it. Then about half way in it all just started to fall into place. I re did the shadow under his eye took out his cheek more to the left and extended his forehead. It really made me think of how not to forget even when painting you still have to maintain a sense of drawing the form as well. I feel this is a pretty decent likeness of him.

Quick Sketches
Here are some sketches I did the other day while at Starbucks and as well as in class and on the cta.
I'm trying to get back into sketches and letting my hand just start doodling so I can find new composition.
I also will be posting more often considering I have now found this blogger app for my iPhone.
Also please check out my website if you can.

3 hour alla prima of AAA student
So I haven't done this in a while and clearly I need to brush up on my skills. But I did enjoy it and had some fun with the composition.
